Guesthouse And Nightlife

This weekend our only house project was to be great hosts to some friends visiting from New York. These were our first houseguests to spend more than a night or two with us since we moved into this house. To celebrate their visit, we packed more activities and nightlife in this past weekend than any since we became parents.

We had dinner party for some mutual friends and their kids on Friday night, walked around Lake Hiawatha and had breakfast at a local cafe on Saturday morning. Saturday night we went out for dinner and margaritas in Uptown before moving back to some other friends’ condo rooftop patio. Sunday we had vietnamese for lunch before taking a drive along the parkway through the scenic lakes district. Sunday night a few of us went out to see Sufjan Stevens on tour for his transcendant new album, “Illinois”.

Weekend Statistics
Average bedtime: 2:00 a.m.
Home improvement projects: 0
Good times: I lost count

If I am in town, I am stopping by the guest house for the nightlife:)

Ha! Thanks, Cal. I guess we’ve set the bar pretty high for future houseguests. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to put that story on the blog…
