General Lighting Sources

These are lighting vendors that sell bungalow-friendly lighting. Some I have shopped, others I have not. Shopping around reveals great diversity of products as well as similar items at diverse prices.

Schoolhouse Electric has great looking reproduction fixtures in a variety of finishes and globe styles. I’m looking at some of their stuff for our kitchen and hallways.

Renaissance Antique Lighting

Ebay sometimes has suitable antique fixtures at suitable prices.

Rejuvenation has some gorgeous fixtures, and frequently commensurate pricing. I’m also considering some of their things for the kitchen and hallways.

Historic Lighting looks like another good source for sympathetic new fixtures for older homes.

Lightworks makes great looking, customizable, reproduction lighting. And they’re local to us Minneapolitans. Why haven’t I visited their showroom yet?

Restoration Hardware has a limited but high quality collection of hardwire fixtures as well as table and floor lamps. Their retail locations are great for when you need to see and touch something before you buy it. I stop in every so often just to scope out clearance items.

LightWorks is awesome. They can create anything you see in Rejuvenation or Schoolhouse (although I adore both of those places too)….so, bring your catalog down thee when you visit them :-) I had them make a hallway post light for me….and it was very fun to “design” my own light.
