Ready to Rock

double boxDemolition of the basement workshop “cardboard wall” is complete. Last night I installed a new double electrical box in the wall and wired it up for two additional outlets for the workshop.

Adding the box was a simple task, particularly with all the new wiring already in the wall from when the previous owners finished the playroom and storage room. The part that took the longest was finding the proper fuse to pull. I have a circuit map for the house, but this wall and its wiring were added after that map was drawn. After trying a few likely options, I eventually resorted to pulling each fuse in succession, finding the right one after over a dozen tries. (Of course!)

With the wiring in place, I’m ready to sheetrock. I aim to get the sheetrock hung tonight when Ms. Bungalow can help me, then start the mudding tomorrow. It is such a small area and such a simple mudding job that I could very reasonably have the wall finished and the shelves in place by the end of the weekend.
