After a bungalow-deficient experience on the Minneapolis & St. Paul Home Tour last weekend, I plan to balance the scales this Saturday on the Twin Cities Bungalow Club 2006 House Tour.
An announcement postcard arrived in the mail yesterday, so I wanted to post this information right away for any local readers who aren’t Bungalow Club members, or for any non-local bungalow lovers who would like to check out the tour.
The theme this year is “living and dining rooms,” so from art glass and inglenooks to built-ins and box beams, some of the best in bungalow features will be on display. Tour highlights will include a meticulously restored 1914 bungalow, and a 1922 bungalow with intact original hand-painted landscape murals in the dining room. Here’s the basic tour information, with more details available at the Bungalow Club website:
Saturday, May 13, 2006; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Bungalow Club members free; nonmembers $5
Start your self-guided tour at 3529 43rd Ave S, Mpls
I am looking forward to seeing some lovely homes on the tour and chatting with some other restoration-minded bungalow owners. Come join us this Saturday!
