Marathon Day

We had thousands of guests in our neighborhood on Sunday for the 25th annual Twin Cities Marathon, called “the most beautiful urban marathon in the United States.” The course follows Minnehaha Parkway just a few blocks from our house, so on a spectacular, sunny Sunday morning we packed up the family and walked down to cheer the runners. With thousands of people running and thousands more cheering, the event was like a 26-mile-long block party.

Our neighborhood isn’t perfect, but on a day like this, I can’t imagine a location I’d rather have my house.

Thanks! We always appreciate it. But next time, bring beer 🙂

And little chocolate donuts, right? Forget Wheaties– that’s the breakfast of champions!

I’m so glad you posted about the Marathon! I’m in the process of training for the Twin Cities Marathon this fall. It’ll be my first marathon and I can’t think of a place I’d rather be running. I am starting to think I’m crazy for training for a marathon at the same time as buying a 1928 dump to fix up! Cheer me on this Oct. 7th, I’ll need all the encouragement I can get!

I’ll be there. Good luck, Nathan!
