My parents just left town for a week in Florida and they asked me to watch their truck for them while they are away. (I’m taking care of their dog, too.) They just sprung this trucksitting opportunity on my yesterday and although I haven’t had much time to think about it, I’m going to pack […]
Dear Rabbit, I’ve seen you and your friends munching on my front landscape garden for weeks. Today, I finally caught you on camera hiding under my hydrangea. Don’t try to deny it. You have eaten the daisies, and probably some other plants, too.
For a bungalow kitchen, ours is a pretty sweet setup. We have an eat-in area, a dishwasher, and plenty of storage space– particularly with the pantry shelves in the rear addition. But one item in the kitchen has been a pain since the day we bought the house: the breadbox drawer.

Nearly every old house has a door or two that hangs a bit crooked. I had two on the upper level that were rubbing on the floor and starting to cause some damage. This is the kind of nagging thing that is small and easy to put off. In fact, that is just what I […]
My snail’s pace nursery renovation continued tonight. Yes, I’ve been picking at this room for a year now … and yes, I’m still in the demolition phase. In fact, if snails read blogs they would probably be offended at the comparison. Point of fact, my true pace of this renovation is somewhere between snails and […]
