Bricks in the Attic

While working on bedroom remodeling project, I found two bricks on a piece of cardboard in one of the attic crawlspaces. The bricks are from the Belden Brick Co. of Canton, Ohio, and are in great shape. Belden has been around since 1885, so they could have sourced the original bricks for the house, but I’m pretty sure these are extra bricks from the rear addition that were placed in the attic by the previous owners when they remodeled to create the master suite.
Why put bricks in the attic? That’s still a mystery to me. But at least now I know which company to order from if I ever need matching bricks for the outside of the house.
