Schadenfreude

What do a dog,  a snake, and a chinchilla have in common?  They’re featured among the delightfully woeful finalists in the DIY Drama Contest sponsored by True Value Hardware.

I have certainly had my share of unwelcome drama during my own house projects, and reading the DIY Drama finalists provoked plenty of humorous familiarity and sympathetic horror. Sweet, sweet schadenfreude! Among the finalists is one of my fellow Minnesotans with a classic story about a towel bar, a t.p. holder and a perforated pocket door.

The contest winner will receive $5,000 to use at True Value and some much-needed help from a Master of All Things Hardwarian.  Trust me, they all deserve it– so check out the DIY Drama finalists for yourself and vote for your favorite by December 4, 2009.

Disclosure: I was one of five bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program and my DIY project as well as my posts about my experience. I have also been compensated for the materials needed for my DIY project. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.
