Halloween is in full swing as I type this from my front yard adirondack chair, a fire in my firebowl, while trick-or-treaters comb the block with their costumes and heavy-laden pillowcases.
If you dropped by the house tonight, you’d find jack o’lanterns (the kids designed their own)…
toasted pumpkin seeds (a bit overcooked, but still yummy)…
preschool art projects (practicing those scissor skills)…
and, of course, a giant bowl of candy!
Happy Halloween!

I'm Josh and since 2005 I have shared home improvement stories and ideas from my family's Arts & Crafts bungalow in Minneapolis, MN. I'm trying to combine the best of 1923 with the best of the 21st century-- and I hope it won't take another 88 years to do it.

So fun, Josh! We are SO bummed and feel horrible- we had our last co-ed soccer game of the season last night and then a team dinner, so we were totally gone all night- not a good neighbor! BOOO to us!
Soccer sounds like a pretty good reason to miss trick-or-treaters, Katie. Now that our kids’ soccer season is done, we’re getting our fix by streaming the MLS playoffs.
pumpkin seeds!!! reese’s!! yumi
How did you flavour your pumpkin seeds???
After simmering them in lightly salted water we tossed the pumpkin seeds in Bragg Liquid Aminos, which I use as a soy sauce replacement, then they went in roasting pans I had greased with olive oil.
OH, and I really want to see your new kitchen counters- post, post, post!
